The Life of a Dress has since 2009 visited several countries in different continents, with widely different cultures. Through our flexible structure and a framework with plenty of space for the local community we visit, we share our content whilst learning from local projects and people about ways of how to rethink the use of materials.

YOU MAKE

During the workshops participants are given certain smaller tasks to initiate the process of sharing ideas, exchange knowledge and to develop skills together. Depending on the size and duration of the workshop and its group different set of activities are initiated. For some of the longer workshops we normally start off with the making of a BIG MAMA. The BIG MAMA is a mini-dress similar to an oversized t-shirt and it has been a fabulous catalyst element to get ideas going and to get the participants to interact with the materials and each other.
